Check out the new fascinating exhibit at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art entitled “Painters of Pompeii-Roman Frescoes from the Naples Archaeological Museum.” The pieces were painted on the interior walls of ancient Roman homes and ash, pumice and rocks preserved the paintings until they were excavated in the 1700’s. With vibrant backgrounds, the pieces are on display today, giving a glimpse into ancient Roman culture and home life.
