Claremore Museum of History - Claremore

Visit the Claremore Museum of History learn all about some of the people who put this northeast Oklahoma town on the map. And some of the items on display will leave you singing some familiar tunes! You can follow a timeline of Claremore, from Native Americans to the town’s first railroad. One section of the museum focuses on poet and Playwright Lynn Riggs who wrote Green Grow the Lilacs, which is the play Rodgers and Hammerstein based the musical Oklahoma off on too! Memorabilia from the movie “Oklahoma” are on display including the actual surrey with the fringe on top, along with items from Apollo 14’s Stuart Roosa to legendary singer Patti Page.
