Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art - Shawnee

Founded in 1919, the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art in Shawnee is one of the oldest museums in the state of Oklahoma. One of Oklahoma's little-known jewels, the museum is located on the campus of St. Gregory's University, Oklahoma's oldest university, and features more than 6,000 artifacts. The museum includes permanent collections of Egyptian, Greek and Roman objects. Other collections at this Shawnee museum include art from the Renaissance and Middle Ages through the early 20th century, as well as Native American, African, Oceanic and Eastern cultural artifacts. This museum also features many artifacts highlighting Old World antiquity including objects from Greece, China, Babylon and more.
